Who I am.

Last night I went to bed with an ache in my heart as I recalled how many young women, men children, youth cannot stand up and tell you who they are.
I ached because I recalled all the times that I wanted to be someone else or like them. The times when my parent looked at me with such disappointment and said.." why can you be like..." The times when they would compare me with the neighbors kids, cousins or their friend’s kids. The times when I thought I was born in the wrong family, when I prayed for God to give my folks the kind of child they always dreamed of and want.

I ached because; I knew there are others who face the same thing every day. when the ones put in charge of us tell us what we are not, tell us what we ought to be, tell us what a letdown we are all because we cannot be more than God created us to be and yet they won’t even let us be that.

But after I ached and I cried, I was filled with joy yet again, the joy that comes with knowing who I am. I am wonderfully and fearfully made, I am the egg that made it, and that sperm that had that one I’m a million chances and still made it. I am the image and likeness of the one true God. I am Gods perfect and divine handy work a manifestation of his glory, I am his purpose walking the earth on a journey to fulfillment. I am change, opportunity, help, remedy, a solution to a problem in my generation. I am a gift and I am gifted. I am unique and no other can do what I do how I do it. I am set apart for his use. I am his opinion not yours. I am his child. I am his business not yours am the very expression of God Almighty, the King of Kings and Lord of lords.

I am a god not a mere man so do not treat me as such.

No thanks!

like most people, I have a list of things i look for in a man. as far as looks go they only would get you so far, having a clean shirt, smelling fresh (Body and breath ) clean short nails, and a good fashion sense ought to at the least get me to give you the time of day to say hi.

However, many seem to think that looks are all there is to attraction. Looks may get you in the door, but you remain standing till further notice. a great personality would be nice, someone funny, interesting and well spoken. That again should but you a little more time with me.

Once you have a seat its time for me to dissect. I want to know what you are really made of, what you stand for, what you would or would not do and the likes. That right there is what makes the difference between a keeper and a return to sender.

Many men look great, dress, well, speak even better and smell like angels dust which is great, but if there is one thing I cannot stand is a man with no moral fiber. You know the one who says one thing and does the other, the one who wraps his arms around his girl while winking at you behind her back? The one who makes the company pay off his drinking bills and calls it a company dinner.

There is nothing more unattractive to me than lack of integrity. I have friends out there, who have men like these, and I ache to tell them, but chances are they already know and just make excuses for his behavior.

Are we so desperate to be in a relationship that any man will do? If that is the case be ready for a man who will also do anything. Ladies, being single is not a curse, playing hard to get is not a game unless you are playing inky pinky pon ki.

I don’t know about you, but I would rather wait for the best than settle for the rest…..you feel me?

Shalom

T
